Bloomerang® Purpink Lilac (Syringa x 'SMNSPTP') is a lovely garden companion selected for its ability to enhance the romance, texture, and seasonal beauty of a rose garden. With its upright mounding habit, rich deep green foliage, and fragrant panicles of light purple-pink starry flowers that bloom in late spring and again from late summer into fall, this compact reblooming shrub brings softness and charm while helping create a fuller, more layered planting design.
Whether tucked along the edge of a rose bed, woven between shrub roses, or used to soften pathways and borders, Bloomerang® Purpink Lilac adds dimension, movement, and garden magic — and its exceptional disease resistance makes it one of the most reliable companions in the garden. Maintenance Needs
- Watering: Moderate water needs; keep soil consistently moist but well-drained, especially during establishment.
- Soil: Prefers rich, moist, well-drained neutral soils. Avoid waterlogged conditions.
- Pruning: Prune as needed immediately after spring flowering. Prompt deadheading before seed set will increase the following year's bloom.
- Fertilizing: Feed lightly in early spring with a balanced fertilizer to support the long bloom season.
- Winter Care: Hardy to Zone 3; no special winter protection needed in most climates. Late spring frosts may damage emerging flower buds — site accordingly.
- Pest & Disease: Highly disease resistant. No serious pests or diseases. Leaf-roll necrosis may occasionally occur.
