Why Gardeners Choose Grace Rose Farm for David Austin® Roses

If you’ve followed Grace Rose Farm for any length of time, you probably already know how much I love David Austin® roses.

In fact, David Austin® roses were the very first roses I ever fell in love with.

Years ago, before Grace Rose Farm existed, I would visit local nurseries throughout Southern California and always find myself wandering over to the David Austin® display. There was just something different about them. Their blooms looked like they belonged in an English storybook garden. They had an old-world charm that felt nostalgic and romantic. Their fragrance stopped me in my tracks. And unlike many modern roses, they looked as beautiful in the garden as they did in a vase.

I was completely captivated.

Looking back, those nursery visits helped shape everything that would eventually become Grace Rose Farm.

Today, after more than a decade of growing David Austin® roses in our own gardens and on our cut flower farm, they are still some of the roses Ryan and I love most.

We’ve planted them by the thousands. We’ve watched them grow through every season. We’ve cut them for bouquets. We’ve designed weddings with them. We’ve photographed them, arranged them, and shared them with hundreds of thousands of customers. Quite simply, there is no collection of roses we know better.

That’s one of the reasons we’re so proud to offer what we believe are the finest David Austin® roses available anywhere in the United States.

The Secret Is the Size

When Ryan and I first started planting David Austin® roses for our cut flower farm more than ten years ago, we quickly noticed something.

The larger and more mature plants always performed better.

They bloomed sooner.

They produced more flowers.

They established more quickly.

And they created the lush, flower-filled displays we wanted for our gardens and floral production.

While many gardeners were planting young roses and waiting years for them to mature, our larger roses were already covered in blooms.

That experience changed the way we thought about growing roses forever.

It’s also the reason we created our David Austin® Estate Rose™ collection.

The very roses we planted in our gardens more than a decade ago are the same size and maturity as the roses we offer our customers today.

These aren’t tiny starter plants.

They are the largest and most mature David Austin® roses available online today.

At three to four years old, they have established root systems, stronger canes, and the energy reserves needed to begin producing beautiful blooms almost immediately.

For many gardeners, it feels like instant gratification.

Instead of waiting years to enjoy the garden you’ve been dreaming about, you can begin enjoying blooms much sooner.

California Grown, Just Like Ours

Every David Austin® rose we offer is grown exclusively in California.

As California growers ourselves, this is something that is incredibly important to us.

Our roses are grown entirely outdoors, exposed to natural sunlight, wind, temperature changes, and real growing conditions from the very beginning. Because they are grown outdoors rather than in protected greenhouse environments, they transition beautifully into home gardens and acclimate quickly after planting.

The result is a stronger, hardier plant that is ready to thrive.

When our customers receive a David Austin® Estate Rose™ from Grace Rose Farm, they’re receiving the same type of California-grown plant that Ryan and I have trusted in our own gardens for years.

More Than a Rose Bush Company

One of the things that makes Grace Rose Farm unique is that our love for David Austin® roses doesn’t stop at the garden gate.

We are also proud to offer the largest David Austin® wedding rose collection available anywhere.

In fact, Grace Rose Farm is the only website in the world where you can explore both the complete David Austin® rose bush collection and the complete David Austin® cut rose wedding collection all in one place.

Whether you’re dreaming of an English cottage garden filled with fragrant blooms or you simply love having beautiful roses arranged throughout your home, we can help you experience the full world of David Austin® roses.

Many of the same varieties that our customers grow in their gardens are also the roses featured in luxury weddings, floral installations, and bouquets around the world.

That’s one of the things we love most about David Austin roses. They are equally at home growing in the garden or arranged in a vase on your kitchen table.

Why We Love David Austin® Roses

People often ask me what makes David Austin® roses so special.

For me, it’s the combination of beauty, fragrance, and romance.

No other roses evoke the same feeling.

The blooms are incredibly full and beautifully quartered. The fragrances range from old rose to fruit, citrus, myrrh, and tea. The plants have a natural grace and softness that feels timeless.

They don’t just bloom.

They tell a story.

Even after all these years, I still find myself stopping in the garden to admire a newly opened David Austin® bloom. I still cut armfuls to bring into the house. I still get excited when a favorite variety begins flowering each season.

They are the roses that made me fall in love with gardening, and they remain some of my favorite roses in the world.

Our Promise to You

When you purchase a David Austin® Estate Rose™ from Grace Rose Farm, you’re receiving a rose that has been carefully grown by some of the world’s leading growers, shipped directly from California, and backed by our Grow with Grace Guarantee.
