About Rosanna® Bare Root Climbing Rose
Rosa ‘KORinter’ — Rosanna®
🧬 Breeder: Reimer Kordes, Germany
🌹 Bred: Before 1982
🌹 Rose Type: Large-Flowered Climbing Rose
💕 A strongly fragrant coral-pink climber with large, romantic flowers and the vigor to transform an arbor, fence, or wall.
Rosanna® brings together two things we especially love in a climbing rose: serious height and serious fragrance.
Bred in Germany by legendary rose breeder Reimer Kordes, Rosanna® produces large, double flowers in a beautiful coral-pink color. Each bloom carries approximately 17–25 petals, giving the flowers a full, romantic appearance without hiding their graceful structure beneath an enormous number of petals.
And unlike many climbing roses grown primarily for their visual impact, Rosanna® offers another reason to plant it somewhere you'll pass often:
It is strongly fragrant.
With vigorous climbing growth reaching approximately 8–15 feet, Rosanna® can become a substantial vertical feature in the garden.

🇩🇪 A Classic Kordes Climber
Rosanna® was bred in Germany by Reimer Kordes, a member of the renowned Kordes rose-breeding family.
The variety was bred before 1982 and participated in the 1982 Monza Competition.
Its parentage is also recorded:
Coral Dawn × (Zorina × Norris Pratt®)
That pedigree produced a vigorous large-flowered climber combining coral-pink coloring, substantial growth, and strong fragrance.
For gardeners who enjoy collecting older Kordes varieties, Rosanna® offers a beautiful glimpse into an earlier generation of the family's breeding work.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
A climbing rose this fragrant deserves to be planted where you can actually smell it.
Rosanna® isn't a petite climber.
At 8–15 feet tall, this rose has the potential to become a genuine garden feature, sending coral-pink flowers upward over an arbor, pergola, fence, or wall.
But what makes us especially excited about Rosanna® is that strong fragrance.
Large-flowered climbers already create some of the most romantic scenes in a garden. Add beautiful coral-pink flowers and noticeable perfume, and suddenly walking beneath a rose-covered arbor becomes an experience rather than simply a view.
It's classic Kordes romance on a grand scale.
🌿 Growing & Care Recommendations
Give It Room: With the potential to reach 8–15 feet, Rosanna® should be given a substantial structure and enough room to develop.
Support: Train it onto a sturdy arbor, pergola, fence, trellis, pillar, or wall support.
Training: As the long canes develop, guide them horizontally, diagonally, or in a broad fan whenever possible. This helps create a fuller display of flowering laterals rather than concentrating growth only at the top.
Watering: Water deeply and consistently while your newly planted bare-root rose establishes its root system.
Pruning: Avoid heavily pruning a young climbing rose. First allow Rosanna® to establish its primary framework of long canes. As the plant matures, remove dead or damaged wood and selectively renew older canes when necessary.
Fragrance Placement: Consider planting Rosanna® near an arbor, gate, patio, or walkway where its strong fragrance can become part of the garden experience.
Cold Climate Note: HelpMeFind lists Rosanna® for USDA Zones 6b–9b.
