Gracie’s Better Bare Root - Grace Rose Farm

Gracie’s Better Bare Root

Article: Gracie’s Better Bare Root

You might be curious about what makes Gracie’s Better Bare Root™ stand out! Well, we’re thrilled to share that we partnered with a new bare root rose grower this year, and they are truly committed to raising the bar in the industry. Here’s how they cultivate a Better Bare Root™ experience for you:

**Solarization:** Our grower sets a high standard by solarizing fields between rose crops, effectively eradicating any potential viruses and agrobacterium (gall) in the soil. This practice, while more costly, is essential to delivering you the healthiest roses possible.

**Virus-Free Rootstock:** They maintain a rigorously tested, virus-free stock block to ensure that strong, healthy roots lead to breathtaking roses.

**Deep Watering:** Departing from conventional methods, they use buried irrigation lines 9" beneath the soil to encourage the roses to grow deep roots in search of moisture and nutrients.

**High Standards for Own Root Plugs:** Only the best own root plugs from trusted partners are accepted, ensuring that every variety planted is certified virus-free and true to type.

**Expert Entomology:** With an in-house entomologist, they diligently monitor the fields for pests to protect the roses from potential diseases like RRD.

**Select Breeders:** Collaboration with only the finest rose breeders guarantees that all roses meet APHIS standards after going through Post Entry Quarantine.

**Extensive Trials:** Our bare root grower only plants varieties that have been trialed for multiple years in each of the major regions of the US. This ensures gardeners have success with their varieties.

These are just a few ways our bare root grower sets the bar high in our industry. We can't wait to show you more from the fields in the coming weeks. This Better Bare Root™ Season is sure to be an unforgettable one!
