Bloomerang Purpink® is a wonderfully unusual reblooming lilac with flowers that seem to hover somewhere between soft purple, lavender and pale pink.

In fact, Proven Winners couldn't decide whether to call the color purple or pink.

So they called it Purpink®.

But the color is only half the story. Bloomerang Purpink® is also one of the most prolific rebloomers in the Bloomerang® family, producing an impressive spring display followed by another flush of fragrant flowers later in summer and into fall.

💜🩷 So...Is It Purple or Pink?

That's exactly the question.

Depending on the light, temperature and stage of bloom, Bloomerang Purpink® can appear lavender-purple one moment and soft pink the next.

Proven Winners liked that ambiguity enough to make it the name.

But during trials, something else caught their attention: the sheer number of flowers the plant produced.

Bloomerang Purpink® proved to be an exceptionally generous bloomer in spring—and then one of the strongest rebloomers in the Bloomerang® series.

Spring is just the beginning.

After its first display, the shrub produces fresh growth that carries another crop of fragrant flowers later in summer and into fall.

We love our historic French lilacs and the enormous spring show they produce, but Purpink® offers something entirely different.

It gives you another round.

And its 3–5-foot tall, narrow habit makes it incredibly useful in smaller gardens where an old-fashioned 10-foot lilac simply won't fit.

We'd plant it somewhere you'll pass every day—near a garden gate, along a walkway, beside a patio or outside a window.

Because when those unexpected late-season flowers appear, you're going to want to smell them.

🌿 Growing & Care

Plant Bloomerang Purpink® in full sun with at least six hours of direct sunlight and well-drained soil. Lilacs dislike persistently wet soil, so good drainage is important.

Keep the plant well watered and mulched while establishing. Healthy new growth after the spring flowering period is especially important because the summer rebloom develops on that fresh growth.

Unlike traditional lilacs, Bloomerang Purpink® flowers on both old and new wood.

Pruning isn't required for reblooming. If you'd like to shape the shrub, do so immediately after the main spring bloom. A light trim can encourage fresh growth, although it may delay the second flush of flowers by a few weeks.

And don't be surprised if rebloom slows during extreme summer heat. Once cooler weather returns, flowering can pick up again.
