About Easy Elegance® Yellow Submarine Bare Root Rose Bush
Rosa ‘BAIine’ — Easy Elegance® Yellow Submarine PP16,659
Breeder: Ping Lim | Type: Shrub Rose | Hardiness: Zones 5–9
💛 Bright lemon yellow fades to buttercream and finally soft white, putting an entire spectrum of sunshine on one easy-care rose.
Yellow Submarine is a cheerful, compact shrub rose that produces clusters of bright lemon-yellow flowers throughout the growing season. As each bloom matures, the color softens from vivid yellow to pale buttery yellow and eventually creamy white. With flowers at different stages open together, the shrub develops a beautiful mix of yellow shades all at once.
Each full, approximately 2-inch bloom contains around 32 petals, giving Yellow Submarine a surprisingly lush flower for such an easy landscape rose. The blooms are carried in clusters against deep-green, disease-resistant foliage on a vigorous, upright plant.

💛 A Whole Spectrum of Yellow
Yellow Submarine is especially pretty because it doesn't stay one shade.
Fresh flowers begin a vivid lemon yellow, then gradually soften to pastel yellow before finishing nearly white. When the plant is covered in flowers, all those stages mingle together, creating far more dimension than you'd get from a solid-yellow rose.
Its compact, upright habit also makes it wonderfully useful in the garden. Plant it among blue and purple perennials for contrast, pair it with white for a softer palette, or repeat several plants together for a bright sweep of summer color.
💛 Why Grace Rose Farm Loves It
Yellow Submarine is basically sunshine on repeat.
We love the progression from bright lemon to creamy white, especially when several shades are blooming together. Add 32 petals, repeat flowering, disease-resistant foliage, and a compact size, and you've got a yellow rose that's remarkably easy to work into the landscape.
And yes—the name makes it nearly impossible not to sing while you're planting it.
🌿 Growing & Care
Plant Yellow Submarine in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Water deeply and consistently while your bare-root rose establishes, then maintain moderate moisture during dry periods.
Prune in early spring to remove dead, damaged or crossing growth and lightly shape the plant as needed. For colder Zone 4 gardens, Bailey recommends winter mulch to provide additional crown protection.
Yellow Submarine is particularly striking planted in groups or mixed with blue, lavender, purple, or white flowering perennials, where its changing yellow flowers can really shine.
